Hi, I’m Blue, and I’m a Kangaroo. My friends and I take great care of little kids. I like to jump and play, and share the world with kids who are under six years old. We’ve even built a special warm and safe place for children as young as 8 weeks. At Blue Kangaroo our goal is to provide a nurturing, secure environment filled with warmth and encouragement where your child can learn and develop a positive self-image.

Blue Kangaroo Learning Center Essence

Our Philosophy

We believe in placing children at the heart of everything we do. Our philosophy revolves around a child-centric approach, recognizing and celebrating each child's uniqueness, interests, and developmental journey. We embrace play-based learning as a cornerstone of our approach, understanding that play is the natural language of childhood. Through play, children explore, experiment, and learn essential skills, fostering creativity, problem-solving abilities, and social interactions.

Respect and diversity are woven into the fabric of our center. We celebrate the richness of cultures, backgrounds, and abilities, creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, respected, and understood. We strive to teach and model respect for others, nurturing a community where differences are celebrated. We strongly believe in the importance of a partnership with families. We recognize parents and guardians as integral partners in a child's growth and development. Open communication, collaboration, and involvement of families in their child's learning journey are fundamental to our approach.

Creating a safe and nurturing environment is our priority. We ensure a physically and emotionally secure space where children can explore, learn, and express themselves freely.

We integrate observations and assessments into our childcare program to support early detection and offer personalized attention to maximize each child’s potential.

All activities at Blue Kangaroo are conducted in small groups. By keeping the groups small our teachers are able to get to know each child, providing encouragement and guidance on an individual basis.

At the time of enrollment we ask you for the names of two adults who have permission to pick your child up. You may also authorize another individual to pick up your child but we must have written permission from you. We always verify by asking for a photo ID.

Keeping You & Your Child Connected

One of the most exciting features we offer at Blue Kangaroo is the ability for parents to check in and see how their child is doing throughout the day. Nothing is more reassuring than watching your child play and learn while surrounded by caring adults. Each of our classrooms is equipped with a state-of-the-art video monitoring system. As a parent, you will be given login and password information. This allows you to sign in on our web site and view your child throughout the day, whenever they are in the classroom. Your child also has fun knowing that you may be peeking in anytime. This also gives you a great opportunity at home to talk about the day together.

Of course, this same technology also provides a safer and more secure environment for your child. Because the whole facility is monitored, we know what is going on in every room at any given time. We find that for many of our parents, the ability to share a part of their child’s day is priceless

Toddler Program

2 years old – 3 years old

We’re excited to embark on the dynamic journey of toddlerhood with your child. Our Toddler Program is thoughtfully designed to embrace the boundless curiosity, energy, and developmental milestones of children at this remarkable stage

Program Highlights

We offer activities that encourage problem-solving, sorting, matching, and puzzles, all aimed at stimulating cognitive growth. These engaging activities assist in shaping their understanding of shapes, colors, numbers, and patterns. Additionally, we integrate sign language into our daily routines, providing an extra avenue for each child to express themselves.

Our toddler rooms are designed to be both secure and engaging, filled with interactive toys and materials that encourage exploration and discovery. These spaces are intentionally crafted to be expansive and welcoming, allowing ample room for exploration through a variety of inclusive activities that promote skill development.

Our curriculum is diverse, offering age-appropriate activities such as art exploration, sensory play, music and movement, storytelling, and early literacy. Through these activities, toddlers learn and grow through social interactions, fostering skills in numbers, colors, shapes, socializing, empathy, and communication.

When your child shows signs of readiness for potty training, kindly communicate with your child’s teacher to discuss the process further. To ensure clarity and mutual understanding, a potty-training agreement will be necessary, outlining all essential details. We’re delighted to invite you to our vibrant and nurturing Preschool Program. Our program is thoughtfully designed to provide a stimulating and supportive environment where young minds can explore, learn, and grow. We aim to provide enriched learning experiences tailored to prepare preschoolers for a seamless and successful transition to kindergarten.

Program Highlights

We firmly believe that children thrive when engaged in hands-on experiences, exploration, and inquiry-based activities. Our approach focuses on nurturing independence, self-assurance, and critical thinking skills, building a solid groundwork for future academic and social achievements.

Within our classrooms, we prioritize safety and security, ensuring a nurturing space where children feel supported and encouraged to explore and learn.

Our curriculum is designed to emphasize foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, science, and creative arts. These activities are strategically crafted to equip children for their upcoming academic endeavors.

We place great emphasis on nurturing social skills, empathy, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence. Through engaging in group activities, discussions, and role-playing, children develop these essential life skills.

Our program encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. This approach allows children the freedom to explore, experiment, and independently discover solutions.

Outdoor Learning

All ages

Welcome to our extended outdoor classroom! We believe that nature provides the perfect setting for learning, exploration, and growth. Outdoor play is an integral part of our program, offering children invaluable opportunities for physical activity, creativity, and connection with the natural world.

At our center, we understand the importance of appropriate attire for outdoor activities. Just as students come prepared with their school supplies, we encourage them to arrive dressed in comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing for outdoor adventures. As a rule, if a child is too unwell to participate in outdoor play, they are considered too unwell to attend the program that day, as fresh air and outdoor activity are essential for children's well-being.

Research supports the positive impact of daily outdoor play on children's health, and in compliance with state requirements, we ensure that outdoor play is a regular part of our routine. We aim to strike a balance between embracing the benefits of outdoor time and ensuring the safety and comfort of our young learners.

For safety reasons, our outdoor play policy considers various weather conditions. To ensure their comfort and well-being, we'll limit outdoor time during extreme temperatures, including very warm or cold days. On days marked by smog alerts, high heat index, or inclement weather such as rain, snow, or lightning, outdoor play will be substituted with stimulating indoor activities, fostering gross motor skill development within the confines of their classroom.
